Got evil spirits? Perhaps a computer virus has you on the ropes… How about a gargoyle to protect your computer? Throughout history these bad boys have been protecting castles throughout Europe and why shouldn’t the common folk be able to invoke their great protective nature for slightly moremodern purposes? |

Wow! One sixth of the world uses GSM! Pretty impressive. I wonder how many people have landlines these days. Probably more but mobile phone penetration will overtake traditional phone service someday soon..

A new Microsoft smart phone is coming to market soon with a twist - it has a keyboard. Unlike the Treo phones, which have fixed keyboards, the Sierra keyboard folds out. It would seem that this would create a balance problem when using the keyboard. Keyboards on devices such the Treo line of phones and the RIM devices offer keyboards that are centered on each respective device.

"it shoots BBs, dried peas, popcorn kernels, lentils and more
up to 8 feet across the room!" But do you need one? A catapult watch has to
be one of the more unique ideas I have come across lately. Suppose you are
in a presentation and you disagree… shoot the presenter. In a class and
the prof is acting like a know it all and passing judgement on your beliefs?
Shoot the guy!

I recently had the opportunity to play with the Garmin
Forerunner 201 GPS and it is cool. Of course, you won’t find much use for it
unless you are a regular walker, runner, or bicyclist because there are much
better alternatives for purposes other than these. But, if you are in the
market for a great sport GPS, the Forerunner offers some enticing features.

I recently decided it was time to throw off the yoke of the local cable monopoly. I did extensive research, I watched hours of TV on friend’s satellite systems, I flipped channels like a pro. I decided that DirecTV was the service for me. My research exposed one of Dish Network’s biggest weaknesses - customer service. I spoke to several people first-hand and they told me unending horror stories about lost credits that refused to appear on bills - even after repeated assurances from customer service that the credit was on the way. That pushed me firmly into DirecTV’s arms. Good or great customer service is worth a premium.

Car salesmen are some of the most hated people on the planet. Why? Because it’s their job to part you from your money. Many years ago I studied the art and science of buying cars and it has served me well - I have paid slightly under and a bit over invoice for my last three vehicles.

Neat idea, been done before. The Sunto n3 Smart Watch is a
great idea but the price insures that it will not be very successful. An
early adopter’s dream come true, the n3 offers stock quotes, instant
messaging, automatic time updates and timezone changes according to your
location, weather, and news. The catch? The watch costs $300 and the service
is $9.95 a month or $59 a year. For those prices you can get a 56K dialup
account and a new computer.
Monthly fees are a marketers dream but at some point they need to realize
that we are only willing to pay for so much. After paying for my mobile
phone, mobile phone data, home phone, broadband, power, gas, waste, waste
water, Tivo, cable, etc. I am not inclined to toss another ten bucks out the
window. |
