PalmOne is now taking pre-orders for the T-Mobile branded Treo 600. Honestly, I didn’t think it would ever happen. I picked up the Cingular Treo 600 based on PalmOne’s assurances that it was not locked for use with Cingular only (I am a T-Mobile subscriber) and I wouldn’t trade my Treo 600 for the world. Well, O.K., I would trade it for the world but not much else. It is a great PDA and a good phone but it is the best PDA phone available and I would know - I’ve owned all the contenders.
I do intend to review the Treo 600 in the future but for now take my word that it is a great device. I personally recommend T-Mobile. Great signal everywhere I travel and excellent customer service. Plus, you can’t beat unlimited data for twenty bucks. Your second best choice provider-wise is SprintPCS. They have a very large network and good rates but their customer service is consistently bad. Google ‘em. You’ll see.
If you have previous Treo model you can pickup the Treo 600 upgrade for $399 plus shipping. All that is required is your current serial number when ordering. If you don’t own a previous Treo model I hear you can buy a serial number on eBay for ten bucks which you can then use to qualify for the special upgrade price.
