Zach Tong has written a couple of great search tools for GMail. His GMail search tool for Windows runs iconified in the system task tray and offers a search bar when needed. The main requirement is that you are logged into GMail using cookies when using the search utility. This tool requires the .Net framework, a rather hefty download but you will need it for other software sooner or later so just get it. Zach earns the title of “Mr. GMail Search” due to his creation of two GMail search tools, this one and one that works with Mozilla.
