Y. H. Gan (I hope I have the ordering correct for his name) has built a PHP library known as libgmailer based on the earlier work of several GMail PHP pioneers. Goodness. The most exciting aspect of his project is the gmail-lite application that uses libgmailer to provide an HTML-only GMail interface that is very useful for reading/writing your mail on a PDA or from a text-only browser such as lynx. He notes on his web page that Google will likely quickly doom his gmail-lite effort. Yes, but we have his code now and that’s what counts.
