Clint sent me an email to let me know about a Perl script he has written that will import your Pine contacts into Gmail. He said in part, “i have written a rare-case gmail tool that would go along with the other tools in your page. It is a tool for exporting a PINE [email client] unix addressbook file into the CSV format used by Gmails addressbook import utility.”
Many people would take his statement to mean that Pine is not a popular mail program but have a look here at some statistics concerning Pine usage. Pine is quite popular. I interpret his statement to mean that any right thinking Pine user would not seriously consider replacing Pine with GMail.
