Note: Someone other than me has invites to offer you. He has 6 GMail invites to give away. If you are ever asked to trade or pay for an invite from someone I make you aware of, email me immediately. I am not doing this so people can try to make a few dollars. If you have invites and you want to sell them list them on eBay.

19 Free GMail Invites

Save 1.5% on Amazon Purchases

Want to save 1.5% when you buy from Amazon? Sure you do and I know you made a purchase there recently (statistics say…) eBay Strategies author Scot Wingo noted that Amazon shared the following with him recently when he logged into Amazon:

Scot Wingo, since you’ve been using A9.com recently, virtually everything at Amazon.com is automatically an additional π/2% (1.57%) off for you. Collecting this discount is zero effort on your part. It will be applied automatically at checkout (it will happen whether you use the shopping cart or our 1-Click Shopping). You don’t need to do anything to get this discount except keep using A9.com as your regular search engine.

via eBay Strategies Blog

Apparently Amazon’s A9 search team has decided to share some of that ad revenue with users of A9. What’s the catch? You need their toolbar. A9 search results are based off of Google with some book data from Amazon added for good measure. Not a bad deal of your IE can handle one more toolbar. Scot’s weblog is also a great place to find the latest eBay-related news.

HotMail Begins 250MB Upgrades

Sure I’m picking on HotMail and I will agree that it takes some time to plan an upgrade from 2MB per account to 250MB per account but why bother? HotMail is dead. Long live GMail.

Myrmi writes “It looks as if Hotmail have started to upgrade free Hotmail accounts to 250Mb of space as promised. The account the screenshot is from is an old account - created August 1999 - so I guess they’re upgrading the accounts in chronological order. Hopefully they’ll get round to newer ones soon.”

Looking for an HDTV Grid Guide?

Ever wonder why you can’t quickly determine what HDTV content is available each day? I did until I found this - the HDTV Grid Guide brought to you by the folks at HDTV Magazine.

Move fast as they are offering the web grid guide accounts for free to the first 5000 registrants. Currently about 1600 have signed up so they have 3400 more free accounts to offer. I have no idea how much they plan on charging per year after the free accounts are taken. And please, don’t sign up if you don’t have an HDTV. The guide is HDTV-only and does not provide standard channel listings.

GMail Apps I Use

There are dozens of GMail apps available but which applications are indispensable? While I can’t answer this question for you, I can certainly share my experiences…

While I have tried almost every GMail application released to date, I use two GMail apps everyday and there are a few other applications are essential for new GMail users. First up, the applications that I use day-in and day-out.
