Yet again, Google has changed the procedure for logging into GMail. The result is the breakage of tools that automatically log in to GMail. I have confirmed that this is the reason for GMail Drive breaking but have not validated other utilities other than Imspire’s GSuite - which still works. This is not suprising as GSuite employs IE and presents GMail in a browser window.
Bjarke is working to fix GMail Drive as I write this. More information as it becomes available.

I experienced a GMail Drive failure last night. At first I thought something I did caused it, but then I started considering other possibilities, especially that Google intentionally changed something so that GMail Drive would not work. I guess I wasn’t too far off.

Hosting a website using GMail drive is not likely to be the best idea.
