The Stiletto is getting some good buzz. I’m a Sirius subscriber and it definitely has taken satellite radio to a new level. The bad side is the weak satellite reception; the good side is the WiFi reception.

Tao’s XM2go personal XM satellite radio looks very familiar

Giant International rolled out another portable audio device today besides that
Tao WiFi MP3 player we mentioned a few hours ago (which is basically, uh, a WiFi-enabled MP3 player). The XM2go Satellite Radio looks eerily like the first personal XM satellite radio receiver, Delphi’s MyFi (maybe they have the same ~~hairdresser~~ ODM or something), and the specs seem about the same i.e. just like the MyFi, Tao’s XM2go can also record up to 5 hours of music for later playback.

Sirius announces partnership with Microsoft to launch video in 2006

Ain’t no stopping these Sirius guys. XM is probably beginning to realize that there is no where to go when you are on top except down:

XM may have the NFL, but we’re seeing the scales tip the other way much more quickly these days: Sirius has officially announced their plans to go video in 2006 (totally beating XM to the punch) in partnership with Microsoft; they will apparently “use software” from them, but we’re assuming this is going to mean they’ll be using CE.net or Windows Mobile on their video-ready devices. This just after Sirius got Ford, Eminem, and Howard Stern? it’s looking rough for XM man, looking rough.

XM Satellite Radio … Online

Uh… doesn’t this defeat the purpose of all those really expensive satellites? XM has announced XM Satellite Radio Online coming to a computer near you this month. At $7.99 I’d say there is some serious profit in there. $3.99 if you are a current XM subscriber. Of course, the XM PCR had these bases covered until XM caved to RIAA pressure. Fair use and technical innovation be damned. Good thing Tivo isn’t filled with spineless wussies.
