1804 Draped Bust Silver Proof Dollar Coin --> [link]$24.99-Ended
1804 King Silver Dollar as a 100 Mil Pure Silver Proof Today history is being made! the limited advance release of commemorative proofs of the King of Silver Dollars heralding the 200th Anniversary of America’s 1804 Draped Bust Silver Dollar are being reproduction. One of the originals sold at auction in 1999 for $4,140,000.00! The Draped Bust Silver Dollar with the heraldic eagle on the reverse is one of the earliest U.S. Silver Dollars. It is quite rare. However, the 1804 Silver Dollar may not have been minted in 1804. You see in 1834, the U.S. government wanted to give a special Presentation Set of Proof coins of every denomination to several foreign dignitaries. However, they had not minted silver dollars for many years. So, they chose to fill in the sets with the last date of issue. When they searched the Mint records, it appeared that the last year of issue was 1804 and they struck the few specimens needed to complete the Special Presentation Sets with the date 1804. Now, current research has revealed that the silver dollars listed in Mint records as having been produced in 1804, probably were dated 1803. This means THERE WERE NO SILVER DOLLARS DATED 1804 EVER MINTED... until the ones struck in 1834 with the 1804 date! Only 8 specimens of this coin are known to exist, with the finest specimen grading Proof-68. It was the one presented to the Sultan of Muscat. Now, you can reserve your own King of Silver Dollars commemorative. It’s the highest priced silver dollar ever as a 100 Mil Pure Silver Proof with the magnificently engraved Draped Bust of Miss Liberty in frosted relief on a mirror-like background on the obverse and the stately heraldic eagle in frosted relief on a mirror-like background on the reverse.
