This is an ORIGINAL piece of colored pencil artist by myself, Maggie Stiefvater. As with all of my pieces of art, large or small, it is done with artist quality materials -- Prismacolor pencils on Canson Mi Teintes paper. As an art card, it measures 2 1/2" by 3 1/2", the perfect size for collecting in ACEO binders. Art cards are a terrific, affordable way to collect genuine original artwork. Plus you can store a lot more art in a binder on your coffee table then hanging on your walls! C'mon, it would be great cocktail party conversation: "Take a look at my little private gallery, Uncle Bob . . . " This particular piece is called "The Cat with The Golden Eyes," which actually describes a lot of cats now that I think about it. However, that aside, I like many people have always been fascinated by cats' eyes. There is that saying that "eyes are a window to the soul." If that is the case, then I think that cats in general must have the blinds drawn, because what a cat is thinking remains as mysterious as ever. This art card is 100% colored pencil, my favorite medium. Shipping cost for all of my art cards is $1.00, though I can hold multiple pieces for up to a week for reduced bulk shipping. Growing up in NYC, I was exposed to galleries and museums from when I was young. My influences come from graffiti, street art, surreal art, fantasy art, pop art, abstract art, people on the street, moods, facial expressions, and also anything else that makes me feel like drawing, painting, etc. Early on, my art style came from graffiti and cartoons, comics, etc. I attended art classes at Fashion Institute of Technology and Queens college in NY to build a foundation and combined that with what I already taught myself and created my own unique style. I just like to create, experiment and have fun with it. I am glad my art can connect with someone in any way, whether it be spiritual, emotional, mental, humorous and the list can go on.I have displayed work at some bars, shows, and galleries here in NYC and NJ.
