On the morning of July 16th, 1945, the world entered into the nuclear age. At precisely 5:29:45 Mountain War Time, a few privileged scientists, army personnel, and civilians witness the birth of the atomic age at a secluded spot in the New Mexican desert, code named: Trinity. The army and the secret Los Alamos Laboratories set up many cameras to capture the event but only one (1) photographer was able to gather any color photos of the first test of the first atomic bomb in history. Jack W. Aeby was a civilian working with Emilio Segre and had been given special permission to carry his camera to document the activities of the group. He shot a total of four images, but only 3 of them were useable. The third image taken is the best and most often used – but rarely is credit given to the photographer. Own a piece of history.
